I slept through most of the first couple days we were here, but since then have been feeling much more perky. I am still take lots of naps, but I've been able to do some picking and lots of grinning. People have been very gracious and kind to me in my infirmity.
-Picking with the Pink Elephants last night-- they are a group of fantastic musicians camped next to us (not elephants... they are people). I really enjoyed jamming with them.
-Knitting lessons from MaryAnne. Yay, she helped me figure it out; my scarf is in the works.
-Worship service at the Colby camp, with chauffeur services from camp members. They had a great informal service with lots of hymn singing and a little preaching. It was a great way to start my Sunday morning.
-Food! Lots and lots of food. People around here make sure no one goes hungry. All you have to do is mention food and you will have a full plate in front of you in no time.
-Seeing old friends and making new ones. There are lots of fantastic people camped around us! Thanks to everyone who has stopped by to say howdy. My favorite thing about Winfield is the people, and this year has been no exception.
I have had my down moments too. My hair is falling out by the handfulls. It is actually kind of humorous at times! Taking a shower was depressing though... all that hair running down the drain. Oh well... it will grow back eventually and I'm having fun with the hats!
Neupagen shots are going okay. Mom isn't too bad-- though she tends to be tentative with the stick. We tried doing it in the belly, which was a total failure. We're sticking to legs and arms. As long as I don't look at the needle, I do okay, but as soon as I look, I get nauseated. I don't know if I'm ever going to get used to the idea of shots, but I'm trying.
My dulcimer is calling me. Time to find some jamming buddies and brave the cold. Life is good!
