We turned 1,000 miles on the car yesterday. WE are currently in Nashville. We are currently at Steve Seiferts home where Erin and Steve are doing a little jazz. It sounds pretty good. We spent the night last evening with some fellow homeschool alumni students. We had a great time there.
We are having some trouble finding internet connections soo posting videos and pictures is a little harder than we expected. I guess you will just have to keep reading. : )
When we do have internet it is a little of a rush to get everything done that we need to get done so if we forgot to thank someone or tell you a very cool story please forgive us. We appriciate SO much what EVERYONE is doing for us on this trip!! It has been AMAZING!! Without everyone along the road helping us out we would be SO sunk and broke. : )
Tonight Erin and I are going to go hang out with Kyle Cooper, maybe see a little bit of Nashville. Tomorrow we head to Knoxville.
I am getting road weary, I"m sick and tired of packing and un packing the car...sick of wearing the same 5 outfits, frustrated with packing my bag EVERY morning. Tired, so many different schedules....I am still having a blast, but I am looking foreward to home where I can sleep in the same bed, and wear whatever I want to...no more worrying about what is where and not leaving anything behind....augh it sounds lovely. The weather is HOT and STICKY...misserable. Ok, that was enought of that...
Erin and I are LOVING our GPS unit we named her Gabby, she gets us out of any sticky situation, tells us where to go and when to turn. It is great! She has saved our rears a number of times in the city. We've not gotten REALLY lost yet!! HORRAY!!! Erin and I are challenging each other to drink lots of water and to rest when we get tired. She got a nice little nap yesterday in the car. We are feeling good and eating well. We miss hearing about things at home so if something exciting happens drop us a short little 3 liner or whatever. Sign our guestbook too!!!! WE would LOVE to know who is looking at this!!!
I'm looking foreward to tonight and we will be seeing you on down the road!
P.S. Gas prices are right around 3.89 so not bad
Love Ya,
Amber and sis

( 3.1 / 47 )Guess what? Yesterday was Sister's 21st BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! She is OLD now!!! We had a good birthday for her I think. In the morning, Anita found the special china, silver ware and a SPECIAL plate with something on it that I won't share wtih you now. We had a bagle and this really tasty tomato, mushroom, onion, egg casserole. It was SOO good.
WE headed to church at about 8:30. The service was GREAT, the people were genuine and real. For lunch, I took Erin out to eat at the Olive Garden. I told her that she couldn't get the cheapest thing on the menue, and she did well ordering shrimp. After lunch, we went to Wal-Mart to pick up 3 things we needed, got out under $8.00. We then came back to the house for an afternoon nap, sister's favorite. Then I cleaned out the car while Erin looked at knitting with Anita. It is amazing how messy the car can get after 10 days on the road! It is in much better shape now. In the evening we went out to the prettiest lake where we played some music. I think we will post a video about our audience (see next blog). THen I crashed and went to bed....Erin will probably finish this now while I go pack my bags.
From Erin:
Sister is correct; I had a wonderful birthday. The whole day was very refreshing and relaxing. I loved the church service-- lots of worship time, fellowship with the congregation, a good message, and closing with intercessory prayer as a body. My birthday prayer was that the past year with all its challenges would be behind me and my 21st year would be a year of looking forward. I am excited to see what God has in store for me for this new year.
Olive Garden was fun. I had never been there before, but I really enjoyed it. It was something special that I would have never done on my own. Thanks Sis! Afternoon nap time was extraordinary. It's amazing how much an hour nap can restore you!
Last night was simply wonderful. The pastor of the church we went to invited the whole congregation out to his place on the lake for a time of music and fellowship. There were three other singer/songwriter groups that played before Amber and I. They were basically doing worship songs they had written. Amber and I played "My Savior's Precious Blood", I told some of my cancer testimony, and then we played a bunch of old-time fiddle tunes. A bunch of people got up and danced-- even had a little informal square dance going during one song! Afterwards, everyone got out their instruments and we jammed for a while. It was just really fun and everyone there was really friendly and supportive. I had a very happy birthday indeed!

( 2.9 / 56 )We crossed into our fourth state of the trip and are now in Memphis, TN. Amber gave a private fiddle lesson this afternoon and now we're getting ready for our concert tonight at 8:00. We're feeling very comfortable at the "Sherman Inn". The accomodations are lovely, and Amber and even get seperate rooms! We're probably going to go into withdrawl from not sleeping together.
Our show last night at the Ozark Folk Center in Mt. View, AR was fun. The crowd was small, but they were really into the music. They were a fun audience to play for. We always love playing at the folk center because we can go barefoot and everyone thinks that is normal!
Our first observation about Memphis was that the people drive FAST here! The traffic was moving about 20mph over the speed limit on the interstate.
Tomorrow is my 21st birthday!! I'm happy to have my 20th year behind me and looking forward to new and wonderful things this year. This morning, the McKinney's had flowers on the table and fixed me a special early birthday breakfast. Amber and I will probably try to find something fun to do tomorrow afternoon to celebrate! Amber says she'll eat ice cream and tell me how good it is.
I think dinner is about ready, so I will sign off for now. Thanks for checking in and we will see you down the road!

( 3 / 63 )Hi friends,
Erin and I are both doing great! We are in a very cute little coffee shop here in Batesville Arkansas. We had some really really good gigs the last few days!!! It is great to share our music with so many folks. Tonight we are going to perform at the Ozark Folk Center in Mt. View Arkansas.
We are definintely not near home anymore. We are in the mountains, lots of trees, big bugs, and THICK accents! The car is still running really well. We are going to have to buy gas again, it is $3.79 here today. We have been getting 29 miles to the gallon, not bad at all.
A big thanks to the Fuchs for being great hosts in Ozark, it was great being a part of your family. Thanks to the Hisers for grabbing a couple of gigs for us.
Thank YOU for the prayers. We can feel them. We don't have time to upload vidoes today, but check out the picture page.
Hope to see you down the road!
Amber and Sis

( 2.9 / 68 )Hi friends
We have had a really good few days on the road. We started our journey visiting friends in the hospital. It was great to see them and hopefully we brightened their day. On Friday night we arrived at "Tater Fest". It was great seeing friends from Winfield! Erin and I got camp set up and we did a little jamming. Friday night a big storm came through dumping about 2 inches of rain. The thunder and lightening were so LOUD and bright. I kissed sleeping goodbye and we sat in the shed eating chips. Our tent stayed mostly dry.
On Saturday we ate, slept, and played music. What a life! Sunday we ate, slept, and played more music. There was another round of thunderstorms all through the night, dumping buckets of rain. The thunder and lightening kept us up once again. The ground was very hard and lumpy, but alas, it was fun.
